Testimonials
I was referred to Joe by one of his colleagues for alcohol abuse problems. I remember the first meeting I had with him and how quickly I felt comfortable with sharing my problems and experiences with him. I really appreciated his professionalism, his kindness, his trust, and his professional insights about dealing with my problem. I have always held Joe at the highest regards and would have no problem recommending him to friends or family.

I started out seeing Joe myself and was in need of a therapist for my 8 year old daughter. I chose Joe because he’s a parent himself and in working through my own stuff with him I knew he would be a therapist that my daughter would feel comfortable and trusting with. I was a little nervous at first because I wasn’t sure how she would respond with it being her first time in a therapy setting but as we sat through the first session I was extremely happy with how Joe approached the situation with her. He made sure that he spoke to her in a way that made her feel like she had a choice in the matter and that her time with him would be spent talking and doing things that she wanted so that she was able to enjoy therapy and get the most out of it. I’m excited to see how she will progress.

I’ve been seeing Joe for about a year now and have nothing but high praises with him. He’s been amazing in helping me navigate through issues pertaining to substance abuse addiction, childhood trauma, co dependency, depression, parenting and other mental health related issues. Appointments are easy to book and he’s very helpful when it comes to needing to reschedule. He truly has been a great therapist that is knowledgeable kind helpful and of course a great listener and problem solver. I have recommended him to other friends and family.

Joe Gorton is one of the most caring and genuine humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is a blue french horn in a world of kazoos. Not only is he professional, polite, and kind, for me he helped me feel comfortable to be myself like no one has ever done before. Genuinely, I have a hard time being expressive or even sharing my feelings whatsoever (even with close friends or family) but with Joe I truly feel like the best version of myself. I feel so comfortable being honest with him. I feel like he understands me and doesn’t look down on my flaws. I can’t imagine what my life would be without knowing him. He truly saved me and helped me bring out a part of myself I thought had died years ago. As a matter of fact, he even helped me dream again. Thank you Joe. I would steal the whole orchestra for you.

I have been provided excellent advice and support throughout my journey through recovery, both during early recovery through my career in recovery and now through family therapy grief and mental health! I have learned how to lay aside my ego and allow others to guide me through some of the most challenging times to grow as a woman with integrity and compassion for others and myself through forgiveness and love as well as trust life through out the process!
